Default Low Latency malfunction

I go to record some gtr (or whatever) and when I select "Low Latency" I lose signal.
Nothing at all.
I switch off "Low latency" and I can hear (and see) my signal again.

The machine is not in play mode.
The only way I can get this to work is....
switch off "auto input"
run the track and go in and out of record a few times.
Stop the machine (PT) and it is working. well sort of.
I can now hear the signal but I can not see any level on the meters while in record.

I know I am not the only one to have this problem.
I just wanted to bring this up to make sure digi know about it and I wonder when we might see a fix?

Anyone else out there haveing this problem?

It would help if you put:-
What version of PT you are useing, and what interface?
What Mac you are using + CPU and Ram; and what OS you are running?
You may then get an answer, have you checked the sticky comments above, mainly general trouble shooting?http://duc.digidesign.com/showflat.p...fpart=1#313423

althought this is not a system related issue I will list my specs for you comprodman.
MAC MINI 1.66 2gig ram osx 10.4.6
PT 7.1.1cs1
002r

the reason I say this has nothing to do with my system is because I know several people putting up with this prob.. some G-5 desktop, imac, imac intel, macbook.... all running LE as you can see some intel some not.
