Default Is my PC compatible ?

Hi, I'm going to buy this laptop. Do you think it's compatible with Protools LE 8.x ?

ASUSTeK K70IO-TY020C
Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 2.1 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GT 120M 1Gb
Chipset NVIDIA MCP79D
500Gb 5400 RPM
4Gb Ram
17.3" 1600x900
Vista Home Premium 32bits

I'm not very endow with computing ^^'
I need Protools for my studies and we are going to learn how it works :)

No.

Pro Tools seems to have a problem these days when you mix Intel processors with NVidia chipsets.

Vista Home is not officially qualified for Pro Tools use. Some have it working, but I would not risk $$$ on something that isn't proven to work.

Damn!

There is ALWAYS a problem with Intel processor and Nvidia chipsets or is it juste a risk ?
Someone tried it with Vista Home ?

Do you really want to test that risk? And if it doesn't work, wouldn't you be out a lot of money? Again, why risk it?

Like I said, there are people who have tried it, but they all have varying degrees of success; some get it to work just fine, some struggle.

Do you want to be making/recording music with Pro Tools? Or do you want to be a computer troubleshooting technician?

My advice: get one that is known to work. (granted; with laptops these days, that is a tall order)
