Default cymbal choke

Is there a midi note you can add to choke a cymbal, or does the drum patch have to have a special note for a choked cymbal? Using superior drummer with PT 8.

I recall using the same cymbal note with a velocity of 0 or 1 or something like that.

It's weird. If I use the pencil tool to draw in the cymbal, sometimes it's muted and sometimes it isn't. Also if I click several times on the piano note in the midi editor, sometimes it mutes and sometimes it doesn't.

Can you explain how aftertouch works? I think I must have it enabled, because I got some ghosted snare notes (unintentionally, but still cool) in another song I did.

Still, how would you pencil in a choked cymbal?
