Default Trying to find best Audio Interface for Pro Tools

I am new to Pro Tools. I have only used it at school but I want to get it for home use. I also need an interface that will let me connect my MIDI keyboard to my computer for use with GarageBand as well. I'm not doing live recording, just in-home project for now. I also have SoundTrack and Final Cut Express. Is there an interface that will work with all the above? Help! Thanks!

The current 003 series should have MIDI ports, I believe but am not entirely certain the Mbox2 Pro has a Midi port. My advice is to buy a interface that supports your Input/output needs and then if need be buy a MIDI to USB converter.

Having gone the Original Mbox to 002 route I suggest a FW interface, 002, 002R, 003, 003R, Mbox2 Pro. The 002 series is discontinued but can be found used. I was never satisfied with my Mbox, My 002 is what I should have bought in the first place.

The 003's offer the most inputs and the 003 offers a control surface. The 003 will function as a standalone MIDI controller for a variety of Apps. You would have read the specs to find out if it works for Final Cut Express or Soundtrack. I know its supposed to work with LOGIC.

Whilst Firewire is generally regarded as a better connection option, I've had great results from my Mbox2 (better than a 002). If you don't need all those inputs/outputs, I recommend you check out one. It's got MIDI I/O connectivity, hardware monitoring and is considerably cheaper.
