Default Removing Demo Plugz?

Hi guys, just a quickie.. Installed demo version of digi translator a while ago, after a month of not using it, i don't want it there. I expected the load up to cease after the trial period but it still asks me if i want to register it?? and no i don't.. Just annoying when i click to load up a session and skip off for a coffee, expecting session to be loaded when i return, only to find it still on register page of digi translator. Small annoyance i know, but there's gotta be a way? It doesn't come up in add/remove programs and can't find anything to remove it within pt interface??

Ta i checked those links but they relate to mac os, still after reading them i gathered that all i needed to do was remove all digi translator files and all would be well.. But i can't seem to find them? Did a system search on digitranslator and all i got was all the pdf info files, deleted them and expired page still loads on start up.. ?? Where do they live and what are they called? i will exterminate them!

isn't it just a simple go to add/remove software programs in the control panel? I remember doing this to get rid of it and other demo crap.

Make sure they are removed from Program Files - Common Files - Digidesign - DAE- Plug Ins. The link I gave you tells you all the files to remove.

Yep checked there - Program Files - Common Files - Digidesign - DAE- Plug Ins, all other digi plugs are there but there is nothing called or even resembling translator? Is it called some other name perhaps? Hard dirve searches for tranaslator, digi, trans etc etc yield no results even resembling this plug? Wherethe f#$% is it hiding?

From the Answerbase:

http://answerbase.digidesign.com/detail.cfm?DID=27089

You have to use the Add/Remove Programs dialogue.

If it's the DV Toolkit you installed rather than the Digitranslator demo (Digitranslator is included in DV Toolkit) try this:

Cheers,

Translator is a Mac application for their change from the original midi to I think Coreaudio. It wont be in PTLE for XP. Just look for the plugs themselves and delete.

Got me stumped then? It's not DV toolkit, it's a single plug called digitranslator and it is on xp and have searched my hard drives thoroughly for any files/floders named such? and it's not in add/remove programs, that was the first place i looked. i had other demo plugs but i did not intstall any of them. Maybe reinstalling pt is the only way? Guess i'll just deal with it untill i find time to that.

cheers guys, time to get back to some real work.

Digitranslator is for both Mac and Windows. It's a program that "translates" OMF/AAF files from Avid, or another video program that can output OMF/AAF, into audio files that PT can use and also allows PT to export audio to OMF/AAF so that Avid or another program that supports OMF/AAF can use the audio. Instead of consolidating regions on a track and exporting a wavefile, you can export OMF/AAF and have all the timeline, automation and other information for each regoin. Useful if you're doing audio-for-video and sometimes useful if you are exchanging audio between DAW programs, like between PT and Nuendo, when it works. Many have found to use OMF to exchange between DAW's they also need AV Transfer. DV Toolkit gives you Digitranslator and SMPTE timecode in PT LE, useful again if you're doing audio-for-video.

Cheers,
