If you bought a new mac (Powermac, iMac or eMac) tomorrow, you'd have two problems. 1) It will come with Tiger and you'll have to jump through some hoops to try and get 10.3 installed on it, and 2) they aren't qualified by Digi yet, so you're taking a chance, albeit a small one, that there may be something in the system architechture that might not be compatible with PT. The likelyhood of #2 happening are slim as they're just speedbumped machines, but it's been known to happen even under those circumstances in the past.

Your best bet is to sit on it for another month and wait for the all clear on both fronts, but I know how it is when $$ is burning a hole in your pocket - just be smart when you buy!

if you buy a mac from an actual store....not the online apple store....its probably not gonna have tiger installed on it. it should just come with a copy of tiger or they'll mail you a copy of tiger. i would think this should be the case for anyplace that has any stock of apple computers....like mac mall and other online retailers. basically anyone other than the online apple store

New models Macs have Tiger installed on them regardless of where you buy them. If they don't have Tiger installed, they aren't new models.
