OSX 10.3.5, 001 and PT6.4
I'm still using using OS 9.2 with my 001 and, as we all know, support is no longer available from Digi So I'm upgrading to OSX on my G4 tower which I'm familiar with as I run it on my my 1.2 G4 ibook. 001 is not supported according to Digi in OS X 10.3.5 and above and PTLE 6.4 (the last 001 supported version of PTLE) is not available to buy from Digi or from the UK stores that I've called.
Is anyone running an 001 on OSX 10.3.5 or above. Does it work? If so, how does it perform? Where can I get an upgrade from PTLE 5.1 to PTLE 6.4? Is 6.4 still available? I could get an 002, but can't get a hardware exchange price in the UK from a dealer. Also no one's answering the phone at Digi UK this morning. Anyone know the UK hardware exchange price? Also will my Motormix work with an 002? I'll be really miffed if it doesn't. Any help gratefully received. |

Re: OSX 10.3.5, 001 and PT6.4
At home I run g4/400,10.3.8, PT6.4, Digi 001
Its kind of like delivering pizza on a moped; you can't handle the really big jobs, and it takes a little extra care. I have made a nice little side business editing audio books on it, though. |

Re: OSX 10.3.5, 001 and PT6.4
HI,
read my Sig., everythings fine here! As far as I know the 002 controls are not extendable, the 002r can be used with third party controls, so it should work great with a Motormix. the 001 legacy upgrade is available for $35 at the digistore, or from you local dealer. Check the DIGI website to find dealers in the UK. regs

Re: OSX 10.3.5, 001 and PT6.4
I'm running the same set-up, but OS 10.3.5, 'cause I was scared to go 10.3.8. due to Digi saying 'uh-uh' about support for this config.
Thanks for the info, I feel quite brave about upgrading, now. And might try the Sonnet/Encore 1GHZ CPU upgrade thang soon, anyway. |
