Pro Control Service/ Repairs in the UK?
Hey all,
Apologies for cross-posting this: I've got a Pro Control that needs some servicing. Does anyone know anyone in the UK that might be still holding some parts and be able to make repairs? |

Try asking over at Pro Tools Expert. Neil is a big advocate and may have a lead for you.

No major rush Mike. Anytime would do.
I've spent some time reading the PC section here and it seems to me that a some problems can be solved with the soldering iron and some with a bit of DeOxit and/ or Servisol. What I worry about is failing meter LEDs and a surround joystick in an Edit Pack... |

I wonder, has anyone ever managed to find any Pro Control repair documents?

try Lee Engineering (http://www.leeeng.co.uk).
I've brought Avid parts from them before and I think they are the Avid repair centre for the UK now. Pete |

Re: Pro Control Service/ Repairs in the UK?
Leeeng was my first port of call actually.
Unfortunately, they have no PC parts stock. They also told me they contacted Avid on my behalf and the response they got back is that: since the PC is unsupported they got rid of all its stock. So, no help there. |

Cheers Mike.
I called them as well. Phone is not working. Would anyone know if they have stopped trading? |

Re: Pro Control Service/ Repairs in the UK?
They've had a few phone numbers (may even be written in one of the paper booklets that came with your Digidesign hardware, if I remember correctly), have you tried :
020 8452 2000 I used them a few years back, and there were a couple of Pro Controls, upended, and covered in cellophane... However, seeing as they were Digidesign / Avid's official UK repair centre, and that role is now filled by Lee Engineering, I'd hazard a guess that T.E. is no more. I guess in a worst case scenario (assuming you've looked at replacement parts / a complete replacement Pro Control on the 2nd hand market) you might have some luck with Avid's official repair centres on mainland Europe - if it's cost effective. |
