Anyone tried the new UA pultec EQ? (UA vs BF)

I love the bombfactory pultec.
Anyone tried both?
Who makes the best LA2A emulation? UA or BF?
The plutonium value edition (i'm mix3 user) are tempting.
22 BF plugs for $1248
But I will rather buy the UA studio bundle ($999) 1176/LA2A and pultec EQ if they sound better.

Both companies offer demos. Try both and decide.

I own the BF stuff.

I downloaded the UA demos.

My impressions.....and mine only....

The UA 1176 just rocks. It sounds terrific. I like it far better than the BF.

The UA LA2a I didn't spend as much time with, so I'm not sure on that. It sounded good, but so does the BF version. Too close to call.

The UA Pultec is killer. Really sounds great. I think the BF Pultec is very good too, but I really liked what I heard of the UA even better.

Bear in mind, I do not care which of these software compressors is "closer" to the real thing. Ain't nothing like the real thing. So I am only stating what sounded best in the mixes I was doing, and these were particularly used on voice. YMMV.
I can say that I personally would buy the UA Pultec for vocal work over anything I've heard, including the overly etched (to my ears) but much bandied Sony, but it would be a tough choice between the UA 1176 and the Oxford compressor, which is killer too.
