Default PT 2021.3.1 Wiped all my Plugins

I installed PT 2021.3.1 using Avid link and when I opened it for the first time all my plugins were gone and I was left with the Avid Factory plugins. I restored a BU of my Plugins folder now everything is back except NONE of my Virtual instruments show up. and when I create an empty Virtual Instrument track its really weird now!

Anyone else with this issue?

The plugins that are 'missing' - Avid stock plugins or what? What vi plugins are missing? Have you looked at the plugins folder to see if everything you expect to be there is actually there? Strange that vi's aren't showing up. When you install plugins do you let them install where the installers want to put them? Sample content can generally be put anywheres you want to put it.



Define 'weird' when you now create an instrument track.


Are all your plugins 64 bit?

As most experienced folks here will tell you, don't use Avid Link to download and install Protools. Go to your Avid Master Account and under "My Products" locate the installers and download from there. Keep the installer file in case you need it again to reinstall. Installing Protools "normally" does not delete or move your plugins, so something definitely went wrong for you. The first time you started after the installation, did it take some time to scan your plugins? Perhaps it hit a snag (such as an incompatible plugin) and quit the scanning process. Are you sure that your plugins are updated to work with your OS and Protools 2021.3.1? Protools 2021.3.1 has only been out this month, so some plugins may not be updated yet.
