Ok the problem is this is a machine at my work and I'm on Windows VISTA BUSINESS, not Windows 7. In either case, I know the new FireWire card I put in has a TI chipset because I saw the TI logo on it when I put it in. So that shouldn't be the problem.

God I wish Digi support was still responding to DUC posts. Now that they are Avid, the support is total [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep] around here, and I have to pay if I want any decent support from them. Bogus.

I'm not sure about drivers, but the ProToolsLE.exe is running from C:\Program Files (x86)\Digidesign\Pro Tools\, and the process shows up as ProToolsLE.exe *32, which leads me to believe it is running in 32 bit as opposed to 64. How can I get 64 bit version of program and drivers installed? I just ran the setup from the DVD. Shouldn't it detect which version to install based on my OS?

It looks like LE in Vista 64 is not supported. Only Win 7 as Public beta.

Right, if you want to run 64 bit, W7 is the only way, and even that is still in beta.

EUREKA! After a talk with Avid Support, I was told to try installing the 64 bit audio drivers for Windows 7. Apparently they still work on Vista 64. I was able to get a session going, and playback worked. So it looks like all is well... for now LOL!
