G4 Dual 800 / 10.2.8
1.25gig ram
PT 6.1 / Mix+

All works great until i put in ST2 v2.03, then i can't even open PT unless i remove the plug in.

"Jason - any ideas yet?"

get cdxtract and reason with reload.

convert your ssc and akai disks and get back to work.

forget about sampletank, mach 5 and kontact on osx. the fact that they all released software
that does not work beyond a bass sound, does not say much about these companys and thier future in the software biz.

After being completely deflated by the SampleTank 2 fiasco, I was just about to get a Gigastudio setup when it occured to me to get another Mac and Logic (ESX) instead. I'll mainly use Logic as a mega-sampler and for soft synths, and connect digitally into my PT HD rig. This way, I 'm not running on two platforms, and I have a world of possiblility within Logic to lead me down a solid path. Aside from it being a bit messy having one job (tune) living on two different computers, does anybody know of a reason why this is not a good idea?

Does anyone have it working on a Mix+/PT 6.1/G4 dual 800 or equivilent system?

I'm wondering if the problem is in my system?
I have lots of other plugs and samplers working though.......Hmmmmmm?

I'm working on a PT mix+ Quicksilver Panther/6.2.3 (I know this is not supported but like others, I've never had a more stable PT)

I can open ST2 but not neither quit it nor quit PT without a crash. Beside this ST2 doesn't write any pref files as other IK software, so at each launch, you must redefine your file path, reauthorize (S/N + key), redo the color thing...AAAAAARRRGHHHHH!!!!!

I was told by a IK multimedia tech that only Protools 6.23 and Panther 10.3.2+ will work with SampleTank 2.03.

although this is whats posted on the IK Multimedia site for Sampletank 2:
http://www.sampletank.com/Main.html?prod_ST_XL

"System Requirements Macintosh®
Minimal: 733MHz Power Macintosh® G4, with 512MB of RAM, Mac OS 9.2 or Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later, 1024x768 screen thousands of color, 4.8GB of hard-disk space. Suggested: 1.25 GHz Power Macintosh® G4, with 1GB of RAM."

This is a big problem for me who is at 10.2.8 and PT 6.1

Brooklynite,

This is such a great idea. I too was considering going to Giga but this would be a great alternative. Unfortunately I do not know the answer to your question and suggest that if no-one answers it here you ask on the logic user list and on the Gearslutz forum.

Cheers, Bob.

Maybe someone has touched on this before but can't we get our money back from the SampleTank2 purchase?

Any luck yet... almost dropped $1400 on the Roland MC 909 today but the sales guy started to talk me into Reason.

Where are you guys with this issue????
