Default control surface eating up CPU power?

Hello! I recently got a control surface, and plugged in USB or midi, it still seems to stop me from doing anything [lots of increase hardware buffer size errors]. I have used it a bit for mixing, however for tracking I have to disable it due to the need for low buffer settings.

I think there's a sync problem, I had this same thing going on with my motu MTPAV when I didn't have it set up correctly. Though the motu was wiggin out with a 1 midi file session with the buffer set to max.

anyone have an answer? I hear it works better running through a midi port instead of usb [yes it is the behringer one]

I have a session coming up on Saturday that I would like to have it up and running by then. This thing is great when I have it on high buffer settings, but right now I have 12 tracks running with no effects and I can't even go at 256! 512 will run for 2 minutes and then 1024 will run until I tell it to stop.

Without the controller on I can run the session just fine.

My Cm Labs MotorMix (midi) works great tracking at 64 and mixing at whatever I set it to (64 to 512)

Hmmm.

What DIGI interface are you running? If its Mbox, the problem may be that the Mbox isn't sharing the USB nicely. Maybe you could run one of the devices on a powered hub?

like I said, I have the behringer fader controller. I am running a 001 setup, with a motu MTPAV for extended midi. I seem to have it setup all nicely now, I just hope it lasts.

It's hooked up straight into the 001's midi now and I turned the midi mode to s-3 and that seems to have done it, though the manual says s-4. Stupid behringer and their crap manuals. I don't like using the USB mode, it makes you have to think of the order when you fire up PT

yeah man!

I had same problem after some weeks with my BCF2000 and someone in DUC said change to control device via midi port (not usb) and works fine but i´m frustrate.
I would like to conect via USB!

I´m waiting the solution on the DUC as always!!

When you say:

"It's hooked up straight into the 001's midi now and I turned the midi mode to s-3 and that seems to have done it, though the manual says s-4."

Does that fix your problem, or is that how you have it hooked up when you have a problem? I am having a similar issue, although my B-Controller is set to s-1, so if what you did fixed it, than I will have to try that.

When I say I have it hooked up to my 001's midi inputs, I just thought to clarify because sometimes the motu needs to be restarted if I don't open things in the proper order. I believe switching to S-3 did the trick however.

anyone get this thing controlling plugins?
