Pencil Tool Problem

I've been using HD 5.33 and the pencil tool doen't alow me to edit audio.I'm zoomed in all the audio files are unlocked.Digi tech support doen't hav a clue to this one!
P4 2.5 all Intel mobo 850mvr Xp pro 1gig ram bus system runs protools that's it!

Any Clues!!!!!!

I had the same problem. Digi says it (maybe) happens if you have 1GB or more ram.

Try setting the Paging File Initial Size to 1065 or lower in
Virtual Memory. 1024 is the recommended value.

To set this, go to:
SystemProperties>Advanced>Performance>Settings>Adv anced>Virtual Memory>Change

I put 1024 in init. and max. - and it works fine here

If you select around the area and consolidate it before using the pencil.. does that work? There was a similar thread recently on the Mac side where this can happen when you have imported (via OMF) files.

I found that post in the answer base about the 1 gig of ram.I removed 512 so I have 512 in the system and restarted launched protools opened a session and used the pencil tool.It works fine now Who Knew! [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]
