Well the Molex enclosures run just fine in todays hard drives. After extensive testing we have found that the drives run fine and are well within the heat tolernances of the drive manufacturer. We are no using the Western Digital JB hard drives FYI. Besides there is no way we would offer something to our customers if there was even the slightest risk involved.

Greg M,

Here's a link to the D-Verb Bug thread:

http://duc.digidesign.com/cgi-bin/ub...=008930#000022

In it you'll find a reply from me with a link explaining the de-normalization problem and P4's. Not all P4's experience this problem, so that may be why the Carillon isn't exhibiting any bad behaviour.

Cheers,

Leonard Ng , I am using one of those silent drive enclosures with my WD 40 gig drive.
My drive exceeds the "safe" limit in terms of watts (6.8) but I have had no problems with it. I have been using it for just over a month.
Although I have the temp sticker on the drive, I have not checked what the temp is.
My theory is that my drive would have calfed already.
I think that the specs are like building codes, a little on the anal side with a great deal of overkill to compensate for human error (ah hell, it''l be ok ) as well as the old cover thy ass theory.
And btw, these things do work and are worth the money.
Only problem is now my volcano 9 seems too loud.
