need some XP tweakin' expertise!!!

hey duc. i'm still trying to squeeze as much juice out of my 2.26 p4 as i can and ran across the following irq settings...

on irq 9 (both of the following)...
(isa)microsoft acpi-compliant system
(pci)intel 82801db/dbm smbus controller

on irq 16 (both of the following)...
(pci)nvidia geoforce4 mx 420
(pci)standard universal pci to usb host controller

my settings seemed locked on the irqs. is that because i'm using acpi mode where the system automatically assigns the irqs ? i have disabled the usb port on 16 even though it shows no conflicts in resources. should i use acpi or standard pc mode ? is it possible to have conflicts even though 'resources' is showing no conflicts? any advice would be most appreciated!!! i have checked the suggested tweak websites and have come up empty on answering these specific questions. thanks in advance and sorry for the redundancy of this topic...mykhal

ok how 'bout this...

are there any 'must do's' in changing the driver from 'acpi uniprocessor' mode to 'standard pc' mode ? and would there be any problems going back to acpi once the change is made ?? thanks!!
