Default Pro Tools 10.3.8 / 11.1 A Tale of Two Virtual Collections?

Ok Avid, please tell me that we DON'T need to have 2 completely separate folders with identical virtual collections in each one in order to have the 2 installs of pro tools work. Please don't tell me this. Because you have 2 separate installers, and it seems that 11.1 only talks to the folder in the root Applications directory and 10.3.8 only talks to the folder inside of the Avid folder. So tell me I'm wrong PLEASE.

Hi

Sorry to say you are wrong this time. You need to install the two separate instrument files as one is 32 bit and one is 64 bit as I understand it but anyway you will have to install the PT10 and the PT11 instrument files

Merry Christmas and Best wishes
Christopher

I run Logic Pro 9.1.8 and Logic pro X on the same machine, their VI's share the same files. Why is PT so strange?

Because PT11 doesn't support RTAS plugins. We're lucky thought that PT11 and PT10 share the same folder for aax plugins though. Don't sweat it - it's only a couple of gig of disk space which in the scheme of things don't mean squat.
