Default input level down. still hear instrument?? PT 7 LE.

hey

weird problem again with pro tools 7 LE.

i am using mbox 1.

why can i still hear my guitar even know i have turned the input knob all the way down on my mbox?
this is rather annoying because it makes it harder to monitor levels.

i am doing nothing different as far as i know. this just started happening as soon i upgraded to pro tools 7.

also, when i load a session sometime it will just freez eand give me the spinning colored ball. i'll have to restart pro tools and load the session again.

any thoughts, suggestions.

thanks
