Default PT6, OSX w/Studio 4 Xface?

Hi-

Does anyone know if OSX and Core MIDI can talk to an Opcode Studio 4 Interface running off a G-port serial port mod on a quicksilver G4?

Am trying to assess the damage to get PT 6.0 up and running.

Thanks,

Jon

It's not a supported configuration. If you call Digi for tech support and tell them you are using that, they will not offer you any help.

Funny, I tried to install the Griffin drivers on a G4 QS 733 Mac and couldn't get it to work. Everything looks OK but there's no sound coming out of the Studio 5. I tried both the fast and normal modes in the MIDI setup but don't hear see any input/output. If you have some insights to this please share them...

Needless to say that it's pretty hard to sell the otherwise great Studio 5 second hand anywhere!

sometimes the box gets scrambled and loses it's program.

create a dummy set up where you create 16 instruments
with midi time piece emulation checked.

then go to inputs and one by one select each dropdown for it's corerect assignment.
then do the same with the output

then go to re-establish connection and you'll see the number change from 0 to 1 then back to 0.

now do a panic and see if all of the ports on top are red
and the bottom are green.

i use to have to do this every once in a while using freemidi. i had this problem last week when it got mixed up. i spent 3 days trying to clear out the ports. finally i double checked with free midi and Voila!

i'm back in business

the studio 5 is too great a box to unload.

good luck
