Dedicated audio drive and jumpers
I am basically (re)building my system for the digi 001. I took out the gateway mobo and AMD 600 cpu and put in a Intel 815 mobo and PIII 933 (so much for the two years left on my warranty).
I am about to install a 2nd ATA hard drive (Maxtor Diamond Max 40G) dedicated for audio and I wondered if I should set the jumpers to slave on this second drive. Never having done anything like this before it is an ongoing learning process and I would greatly appreciate any advice from the "vets". Thanks- J

Re: Dedicated audio drive and jumpers
use the slower drive for system and the faster one for audio. the jumper settings should be marked on the drive. set the system as master and the audio as slave and run them both to the same ide channel (use one ribbon for both). don't forget to enable dma (that goes for cdroms too). good luck!
