they look cool as hell, if nothing else. Anybody know how limited we are using it with PT as opposed to Logic, digital performer, etc? Seems like you'd need to use it via HUI.

having never used HUI outside of a little tranzport, what does that mean? Can you still get into all your plug-ins? Plug-in automation, etc? Can you navigate through markers? Add markers, etc? How bout things like ctrl-clicking a mute or solo button to bypass group assignments?

The faders are as good as you are going to get at this price point. I have the new C24 and I just used the Euphonix at Namm. They are about the same.........
Just in case you didn't know.... A good fader cost over $1000.00. You are not going to get one in any of these low priced controllers so U can stop looking. U get what U pay for.!!!!

$1000 is very high for one P&G with servo...plus these are not analog faders.

Has anyone purchased the Euphonix controller? I'm going to purchase Logic and see if I like using it compared to PT because Digi is becoming to expensive for what they are offering.

I took a close look at this unit at the NAMM Show.

One major design flaw (from my point of view) is that it does not have "Mute" buttons... it has "On" buttons. ie the buttons are not lit up when the channel is muted. Which effectively do the opposite of just about every control surface ever made, and does not reflect how things are displayed in the Pro Tools Mix Window.

What possessed them to do it this way is completely beyond me.

Also, the faders on the the main unit are a different distance from the front edge than those of the expanders. Plain stupid.

Also, there is no scribble strip directly above the faders on the main unit, only on the expanders.

Also, the "Solo" LEDs are red and the "On" LEDs are green.

Also, the semi-circular transport layout, while pretty, is confusing and slows down workflow.

See this picture:

Having said that, the rest of the design is very nice... especially the simultaneous multi-platform control.

It has potential, but the initial release seems like a prototype to me.
