Blast of white noise at end of bounced file
This has been a weird and persistant problem for me lately. At the end of a bounced file, PT adds a loud quarter second of white noise, or something like it. Anyone know what's causing this? Nothing has really changed in my set up except the new bomfactory plugs.
Hope you can help, Bryan PT 6.1 Asus A7V333x AMD 1700+ 512 Ram |

Re: Blast of white noise at end of bounced file
Make a selection of what you wish to bounce. It's a known "glitch/bug/annoyance" in PT that has been around for quite some time.

What does"make a selection" mean? I thought I was the only one with this problem.

Re: Blast of white noise at end of bounced file
Use the selector tool and select the amount of material you wish to bounce. That's what I mean by make a selection. I'm pretty sure that almost everyone has had this problem at one time or another. (It's one of the reasons why I don't master in PT.)

Re: Blast of white noise at end of bounced file
Okay, be sure to leave a few extra seconds before and after the audio in your selection, that usually will take care of it.

Re: Blast of white noise at end of bounced file
This is not just a problem in PT LE. I know of at least one other audio program this occurs randomly in.
Try this: DAE buffer size at 4 or 2, best is 2 Hardware buffer at 512 or 1024 Put 1 second of silence at the beginning and 4 to 6 seconds of silence at the end of your audio - just highlight an extra second at the head and 4 to 6 extra seconds at the tail - before you bounce. Try these three things together and you should be all right. If the extra silence is a problem for you when it comes to burning the track(s) to an audio CD, do the bounce, then set up a new session at the bit and sample rate of the mixed down track. Import the track to the new session, trim as desired and then export the file rather than bouncing it out. Many on the DUC use a separate program like Sound Forge or WaveLab to trim/set up their tracks to burn to CD. You could go that route after BTD if you wanted to. An alternative to bouncing out and using a separate session is, if you have the two tracks available, mixing down to a stereo track by bussing, trimming to time and then exporting the resultant stereo track. This will work fine if you don't need to apply dither. Cheers,

Re: Blast of white noise at end of bounced file
I fix it by simply making sure the Hardware Buffer is set at 1024 samples.
