Re: Mezzo problems
My observations are similar to Joel's.
Mezzo seems to get most confused when you add, subtract, or change files in a targeted overview while it is trying to back up same files in the background. It does not seem to have the same problem with files/folders that you are not currently working on. In other words, when you are done recording session A, move on to session B and start backing up session A in the background. Don't back up a session in the background while you are still working on it (recording audio, changing/adding/deleting fades). If you're done with all the audio and fades, it's fairly safe to keep backup going to save each version of a session file, since it's so small it doesn't take long to back up and verify. If you do this, be sure to wait until mezzo is finished before you hit save again. If you do crash for any reason, it will still corrupt the tape - but the likeliness of Mezzo causing the crash is reduced greatly. To further protect the media, select a time threshhold for auto eject when it is done with current backups. When it ejects, Mezzo takes over the system for about 30 seconds, freezing the cursor and screen display. Don't freak out, it's not a crash, just give it time to do its thing. You will regain control when it finishes writing the media catalog. (Maybe this is just on my system?) Also, try not to open more than a couple overviews at the same time. It can be done, but it's asking for trouble. Hope these help. (I'd love to hear something in here from gmr, nudge nugde.) ------------------ Angelo Quaglia AQ Productions
