Hi guys,

I was in a studio at the weekend working on an HD3 accel G5 system. I now want to move the sessions into an LE mbox1 system on a PC to mix and possibly do bit more recording. The PC is an opteron 165 clocked to 3GHz with 2GB RAM. The sessions were not particularly huge, 15 - 20 tracks and the producer did a basic mix with some plug ins added.

I want to know what are my chances of being able to work with the sessions, I realise there might be some special plugins used in the session that I don't have, but what of th standard HD plugins? Will LE be compatible with them? Will the session even play? Advice please!

In the 7.0 PT manual it says "Although there are different session file icons [HD, LE & M-Powered], the session files may be opened by all three applications (with certain restrictions)."

And as far as I can see the restrictions for LE and M-Powered systems are exceeding voices will be set to OFF.

And obviously plug ins you don't have won't work, but that has nothing to do with the system you're using.

Thanks for the reply, thats great news. Do you know if the standard digidesign plugins that were used in the HD session map to the standard rtas digi plugins in LE? Or would they all just be deactivated when opening in LE?

Sorry, I don't know. I'd assume they work - but then again, who knows. Just give it a try.
