\"DAE error 6045 was encountered\"
First it was the "Some regions were removed from your session..." error message, now it's - "DAE error 6045 was encountered"
G4 DP 1.25 Ghz/768 M RAM/PT LE 6.4/OS 10.3.9 The only cause I can think of is I bought a new 250 GB internal HD and was told I needed to install it on the 100Mb/sec buss for the full 250 Gb to be recognized. So I moved my PT drive to the 66Mb buss (the front drive - my boot drive and the new 250 Gb drive are on the back drive which i understand is the one with the 100Mb buss). Is the 66Mhz buss too slow and that's why I'm getting the message? I ran PT on my old G4 and I doubt the buss was any faster than that. now I'm getting this error message so frequently, my system is unusable. I'll copy all files to the 250Gb drive on the fast buss to see if that solves the problem but it seems like it should be able to work off the 66Mhz buss. Any ideas? PT is not for the faint hearted. thnkz, dean |

Re: \"DAE error 6045 was encountered\"
First, make sure all drive jumper settings are correct.
If that doesn't help, what happens if you remove the new drive and use just the original drive? Did you format the drive with the OSX disk utility? Which Digidesign hardware are you using? |

Re: \"DAE error 6045 was encountered\"
>>First, make sure all drive jumper settings are correct.
Both of the non-boot drives should be set to slave, correct? I assumed the salesguy where i bought the new drive did this properly. The boot drive should be set to master I assume and if both the other drives are set to slave then it should be cool. Or are there "Slave 1", "Slave 2" settings? >>If that doesn't help, what happens if you remove the new drive and use just the original drive? Project files (including their audio files) i've copied to the new drive (on the 100Mhz buss) seem to work fine - no 6045 errors. Projects on the old drive (now on the 66Mhz buss) give me the 6045 error. I guess I could remove the new drive and leave the old one where it is just to see what happens but i'm not crazy about opening it up and yanking on those ribbons and connectors anymore than i have to. I will if you think it would help narrow things down. >> Did you format the drive with the OSX disk utility? Yes.I gave it one partition. But the new drive isn't giving me the problems - it's the old drive which is now on the 66Mhz buss/front drive bay. >>Which Digidesign hardware are you using? 001 what does that error mean, by the way? Buss problem? is there a chart of error codes anywhere in the forum? thanks for your help. |
