Default UAD update knocks out HDX driver

Was notified on startup extensions were out of date for UAD software. Did said update and then had no audio. Using 2021.12.0 protools and audio driver.
Many reinstalls trying to get the security right and doing the terminal thing to authorize till finally its up and running. But now none of my other daws see the avid I/O.

Right now only option I can think of is to uninstall UAD and just leaving out of my system.

Mac mini 2018 i7 3.2 6 core Big Sur sonnet thunderbolt hdx.

Uninstalling UAD wont help... MacOS is not loading its kext files, it got corrupt by the UAD installer.
Had the same thing, there are a lot of post on this item at the DUC.
I had the same thing and for a few weeks I used to startup every morning Terminal and put the next line in: sudo touch /Library/Extensions
After that the kext files were loading, but I got sick of it, so I tried to install every HD installer of 2021 and finally got it to work again as it should.

Yes uninstalling UAD didn't help. I still can't get an audio input to work in Ableton or cubase. I have tried everything I can think of.

Did you try to open Terminal and put the following command in:
sudo touch /Library/Extensions

In my case it loaded the kext files needed for the hdx card and my rme aes/ebu pcie card.

All was working fine with my Big Sur PTU 2021 and HD Native unit, but now Mac mini cannot see HD Native at all in system prefs|Sound no matter how many re-boots of Mac mini and the HD Native box.

How do I re-install HD drivers please? Appreciate the help!
Thanks

is this a known issue with a certain UAD installer? Has UA addressed it? It seems like quite a disastrous bug if true..

This is a known Big Sur issue. You can download a script to help install/reinstall the HD Driver kernel in the KB below. Apple will not fix the issue in Big Sur.

I just gave up after spending many hours trying to get it ALL working. Now just upgraded to Monterey after reading that the audio issues were resolved with apples new update . Yes everything is now working better but I still can't record audio into Ableton or cubase. They see the inputs but nothing comes through. The outputs work I can hear the audio coming out. Plug a guitar into omni level is there but nothing out of the daws and no level on the input meters in the daws. Protools works fine but not Ableton or cubase.

Hdx omni Mac mini i7 2018 32 gig

OK after a long day its solved. In audio/midi setup for some reason the volume on the input stream was turned all the way down.
I can now say all is working as it should. Monterey 12.3 protools 2021.12.1
audio driver 2021.12.
