Default Can't figure out how to install 11.1.2

Apologies for my ignorance, but I can't figure this out. Recently purchased PT11 and downloaded what looked to be the most recent version, 11.1.2. The most recent installer I saw listed was 11.0.2 so I figured that's the one I needed. It installed 11.0.2, not 11.1.2. I'm not sure how to get the latest version. I saw it's a 'full install' but don't know what that means or if it has any bearing on this. I'm fine running the software but get everything everything loaded and working has been a pain.
Thanks very much for any assistance!

Log into your avid account, you can download 11.1.2 from there.

Full install means just that - it's the full PT program not just an update patch. Now the instruments is a separate download - you're going to need that as well. As always make sure you download the one for your operating system.

I don't see an installer listed for 11.1.2, just for 11.0.2. I downloaded PT 11.1.2 and tried using the 11.0.2 installer (since it was the latest version I saw) and it installed 11.0.2. Does that make sense?

If you have successfully download 11.1.2, all you do is double click the file to open it.

Then you'll find inside the Pro Tools 11.1.2 app itself.

You don't install it, there is no installer as such, everything needed to run PT is contained within the .app file. You just drag and drop that .app file straight into your applications folder, and launch it from there.

Of course there are extra installers for various plugins that you mat want to install ... but note you don't HAVE to install them for Pro Tools to work.

The obvious one is the AIR Creative Collection installers, which adds a few virtual instruments if you want them. If you've bought any extra Avid FX plugins in the past remember that they are no longer updated by Pro Tools updates. Primarily because new versions of PT11 are no longer installers, they are just the full pro tools app, and are just copied into the applications folder. So you have to separately download and install any plugin updaters to keep them up to date.

Also you have to go looking for many of these plugin update installers. None of the update installers for any of my Avid plugins appear in my Avid account. I'm talking about things like Space, Classic Compressors, Moogerfooger, Joe Meek, Tel-Ray Delay X-Form etc., the kind of things that I got when I bought the Music Production Toolkit, or, later, got when upgrading that to Complete Production Toolkit.

The Avid account system hasn't yet become clever enough to recognise this and add links to the relevant update installers in my Avid account, which DOES, in my case, correctly include Music Production Toolkit, grace period free upgrade to Music Production Toolkit 2, and upgrade to Complete Production Toolkit.

Who knows, maybe one day the Avid Account process will be enhanced to include these additional update installers, where relevant.

Again, apologies for my inexperience. Do I need to delete PT 11.0.2 before installing 11.1.2? Evidently I needed an installer for that 11.0.2. What's strange is I initially download PT 11.1.2, but the most current installer I saw was for 11.0.2, so I downloaded that too. So should I have just downloaded PT 11.1.2 and NO installer and just clicked on it to install??

I'm not on Windows, but maybe it is asking you to uninstall v11.0.2, so it is opening that install/uninstall application.

These 2 sticky posts here in the Pro Tools 11 forum may help:

Sometimes Windows installers can get confused if you have an older installer version of the program. If you do delete the old installer (not the program itself). Haven't seen this one in ages.
