ERROR -6101 constant

I am having constant -6101 errors on the simplest of sessions. I can't play through a 5 minute song without getting the error. Very minimal settings, 3 stereo audio tracks, no plugins in mix. CPU meter shows 1% utilization at time of error.

I have followed optimization suggestions for mac and uninstalled all PT installations, databases etc. then reinstalled PT11.

I was not getting this error with 11.0.1. I'm going to uninstall 11.0.2 and go back to 11.0.1 and see if it continues.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

well I didn't have 11.0.1 but I did still have 11.0.0. I tried it and am getting same results. Must be a plugin. I'm going to drag all of my plugins to the unused folder and see what happens.

Update: moved all but stock avid plugins to "unused" error still exists.

Your not alone, I have the simplest session MPB i7 Quad core16 gig ram and get this error a lot in PTHD 11.0.2 it totally sucks
I don't get these error in 10.3.x

Same here but only when using HD10.3.7 and not on 11.0.2
Very strange indeed.. We have tried just about everything but to no avail..

Anyone know what can be the issue here!?

Man that is weird, 11.0.2 is the problem, and it's supposed to have the new audio engine etc, 10.3.8 is still more stable for error codes , I really don't get it.. Now i read on Avid support form it could have something to do with the graphics card, and they suggested using a 3 rd party graphics card, I'm using a "approved" 2011 17" MPB i7 quad core , 16 gig ram so go figure

Same here. We have a approved MBPr 2013 and Mac Pro 12 core and both of them have the same problems with 6101 errors on PT10HD.

Maybe We will try to do the whole "plugin test" and see if there are any outdated or demo plugins that can cause this. We have 100% optimized computers and of course all the optimization and prefs deals have been done quite often but still issues all the time on the songs so I don't get this either

PS: you mean 10.3.7 right? Can't find a 10.3.8 update but maybe I missed that update?

Man, I'm so glad that others are seeing this. I thought I was alone on this one. I was thinking it was my hardware. I even removed all of my ram and installed the original 8gb MAC ram to test and got the same results.

I also removed ALL of the plugins for testing, had a simple session with just 3 stereo pairs, no VI's, no plugins and can't get through a 4 minute play without the error. If I increase the playback buffer to 1024, it will usually play but forget about recording anything. The latency is too much. I used to be able to set my buffer at 64 and rock all day long. I have a "live jam" session with about a dozen audio tracks, 4 VI's, moderate plugins that I would just put in record and the band would play. It never got a single 6101. Now I can't do a simple session without the error.

I also removed EVERYTHING pro tools, PT10 and PT11 and reinstalled 11.0.0 and still got the error????? weird. Nothing I seem to do makes any difference.

Jazzbass, are you MAC or PC or both?

I guess I need to place a ticket with AVID.

Update: Wow, no online support without paying for it? I can't even send an email to report a problem?

I'm on a Mac, and I hope more people will come forward with this problem, because I'm beginning to feel it is a bug or issue with PT, we are all running sessions on qualified computers and keeping those computers optimized, and we are all having this problem

Yes, I agree. I am running a bootcamp with windows 7 64. Think I'll install PT11 on that partition and see what happens.

mbp 8,1- i7 2.3GHz and 8GB ram here, 10.3.7 is coming up with these errors all the time. I am running around 250 plugins in my session, but the cpu meter only says 30%... so should be fine right?!
Interestingly 11.0.2 with the same amount of plugs is fine for me here. I'd use 11 more, for this reason, but not all my plugs are AAX.
