Look up at "Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!". And read it! Come back here with a Sandra report. Make sure to have all your disk drives attached when you run it. What interface are you using? And what are *all* the settings in the Pro Tools Playback Engine dialog page, including the buffer size you currently are using? Darryl |

This system is significantly under-spec to run Pro Tools
The AMD Turion processor is underpowered and may be problematic for other reasons. You can search the DUC for threads on that specific problem. All drives are 5,400 rpm, you need a dedicated audio/session drive that is at least 7,200 rpm (if mechanical) or an SSD. Your memory DIMMs are unbalanced which might be a nice thing to avoid. I would need to look up this specific chip version but if dual channel memory you should install DIMMs in matched pairs for maximum performance/to avoid some rare crashes. This is not significant here because of the other problems. With all these issues I suspect the best thing to do is to purchase a computer that meets the Pro Tools systems requirements. They are well documented on Avid's web site, you can use google search to find them. One you get your new computer make sure you follow all the systems optimization steps that accompany the install instructions (and are under the "Help us help you--Read this before posting!" Link on this web page. Darryl |

Re: Pro tools gives me error messages
Again, Darryl is correct.
The answer to one of your questions would be... Yes, obtain a new qualified computer. Sorry
