Default Problems with a complete re-install of PT LE 8

Hello,

I decided to make a complete re-install of my PT LE 8.0.5, and in the process, update OSX to 10.6.8. The problem is that after installation all bundled plug-ins are gone (EQ III, Dynamics III, etc). They can't be found in Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug Ins.

Here what I did:
- Complete un-install of PT
- OSX combo-update to 10.6.8
- Repair disk-permissions
- Download PT LE 8.0.3 update package
- Insert PT LE installation DVD (8.0.1)
- Run the 8.0.3 installer
- Download PT LE 8.0.5 update package
- Run the 8.0.5 updater

After the installation, the bundled plug-ins are nowhere to be found.

Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins
Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins(Un-used)

The installation DVD came with my Eleven Rack, and the Eleven plug-ins appear in the plug-ins folder.

I have to addmit that the last time I installed PT LE 8, I'm not sure if I did a complete un-install of PT LE 7.4, so I don't know if the bundled plug-ins I used to have came from the PT LE 8 installation or not.

What can I do? Any ideas?

Thanks,

Lasse

It all seems a bit complicated what you're doing.

If you've got a DIGI / Avid account,

Then you'll find that you can just download PT 8.0.3 which is a Full Installer.

Then if you choose to, you can 'update' to 8.0.5 if you think you'll benefit from that.

What you don't need to do, really, is to use PT 8.0.1 installer.

Failing that, if you can't do any of the above, I would use 'Pacifist' for Mac OSX and view the contents of the 8.0.1 installer and just grab the plugins that you want.......

Getting the full 8.0.3 installer was my first idea as well. The problem is I don't see the installer on my Avid account. Apparently something has went wrong in my product registration. I'm currently trying to sort it out with the retailer I bought my Eleven Rack from.

Cheers,

Lasse
