Urgent PT8 LE installation problem. Help!
ok so im fairly new to all this and I've bought myself this new windows 7 laptop, (yes I realise that a windows laptop is not the way to go but its what i could afford financially)
The laptop was brand new, worked fine. I installed PT8 LE using the mbox2 mini as my interface and installation was fine. I loaded up a new pro tools session on an external usb hard drive (unfortunatley im not sure what its rpm is) and hit play. I then recieve the error 'problem with audio clock' etc etc Seeing as it didnt work, I tried to exit PT and as I did the 'blue screen' appeared for about 5 seconds and says something like 'memory dump error' or something, and my computer would restart itself. Then whenever I logged on again my laptop would crash, and I would recieve the same blue screen and it would restart again. Thats assuming it would actually log on, sometimes it would just stay on the 'werlcome screen' with the cursor just spinning (loading). Luckily I could launch my laptop in safe mode and restore it to before pro tools was installed, and then it works fine again. I then try to install pro tools again, and the same happens, its an infinite loop of frustration! I have tried everything from uninstalling any anti virus, installing the whole progamme onto an external usb drive, turning of wifi, reinstalling, repairing. This laptop means nothing to me without pro tools trying to run on it, I bought it purposely for it! If any body could give me any more suggestions on how to resolve this issue, or could recommend specific system specifications required for pt8 to run succesfully, it would be greatly appreciated as I may return this laptop for a tower instead. I'm so frustrated! And please dont suggest macs because I can simply not afford :) Thank you Sandra report below.
