Default T-racks, Amplitube, SampleTank and Reason Adapted

I just installed the bundled plugs from digi. I guess that these are all demo versions, and that the full versions have more going on. Does anyone out there know how much has been left out of these versions? For example, are Reason 2.5 and Reason adapted pretty much the same thing, or is Reason Adapted more limited.

Thanks, gary

Well, I guess after researching this on my own, the conclusion is that these versions are EXTREMELY slimmed down. I got kinda excited when I found out that we were getting all this great stuff for free, but you know the saying about free lunches...oh well.

Yeah, they're all limited from what I've read. But you do have some of the cool stuff. For example, I think Reason LE comes with Dr. Rex and Redrum both, right? Those two are almost all I ever use reason for. So if you only need or want some things, what you've been given can be an awful lot.

Included in the bundle is:
Quote:
SPECIFIC PRODUCT FEATURES

Reason Adapted for Digidesign

Reason Adapted is a special version of our renowned Reason application, offering the same basic design and layout as the full Reason version. The main difference is that Reason Adapted contains a fixed selection of devices.

Reason Adapted for Digidesign contains the following devices:

• A Redrum drum machine device

• A Dr. Rex loop player device

• Two Subtractor synthesizer devices

• An NN-19 sampler device

• An RV7000 advanced reverb device

• A DDL-1 digital delay device

• A Comp-01 compressor device

• A Mixer 14: 2 device

Note that Reason Adapted’s device configuration is fixed. You cannot add additional devices or remove devices. However, you can freely reorder devices and route signals as you like.

Ableton Live Digidesign Edition

Some of the features included in Live Digidesign Edition:

ReWire Slave
Render to Disk
Metronome
6 Tracks
1 Send Track
Chorus Effect
Compressor Effect
EQ 4-band Effect
Ping Pong Delay Effect
Direct I/O support
Arranger Editing
8 scenes

IK Multimedia SampleTank SE features

This RTAS version of SampleTank is limited to the 64 sample instruments that are included.

IK Multimedia AmpliTube LE features

3 Amps, 3 Cabinets, 4 Effects
Chromatic Tuner
128 presets
Full PageTable support
RTAS/HTDM support for Mac OS 9, OS X and Windows XP

IK Multimedia T-RackS features

Its a great bundle for the price ( free). If there are any programs you like in the IK range, the trade up cost will save you about $100 for each.Reason and Live have no upgrade path yet but atleast you can get good functionality to decide if you want them or prefer the NI (or others) stuff.

Default Re: T-racks, Amplitube, SampleTank and Reason Adapted

Reason Adapted is missing some key things:-

Maelstrom (IMHO one of the best soft synths. Period)
It's limited to the sound bank that comes with it. you can't use any refills (external libraries)

Mind you what you get for free is still pretty cool. The whole app is like $300 and is probbably one of the best value for money purchase you can make in the soft synth arena.
