003 booting problem

i bought a 003 (b stock) from a shop that went in to liquidation but when i got it home and started it up it would not boot up. all that happens when i turn it on is some slight light in the sync light and then nothing.

tried to push aux 7/8 and mute to force it into firmware update but no joy there either.

anyone got any ideas about what to do?
