Need Authorization number for Pro Tools LE 5.3.3

I just bought a used Mbox with pro tools le version 5.3.3 for the sole purpose of giving people their projects in "pro tools" format. Unfortunately, it didn't come with the "getting started" book and that is where the authorization code for the software is.

The software won't even run without the MBox hardware so I don't see what the big deal is about the authorization code. Can someone just PM or email me ([email protected]) me an authorization code so I don't have to go through the Red Tape? Thanks!

Call Digi technical support, explain your plight (leave out the "yuck"), and they'll probably help you out.

Best case would be to get back in touch with the seller and get them to search for the original guide. It would also be helpful to go through the change of ownership process.


Just in case you don't know... you do have the option of buying the newest version of PTLE ( 6.4 ) for $75 bucks which will include a fresh serial number.
Sweetwater sells it with no shipping.

If you upgrade you need to provide the original serial number.

Nonsense old boy'. I called in and purchased.. Never was asked my old serial number. Whats funner, is I got a downloadable version of the software using one Code, and then the CD they sent me, has a different code.. So I have two versions of 6.4 But I wouldnt cheat digi.. I plan to keep them both as my own.

You know, when I upgraded to 6.1, I could swear I spent time searching around for my old manual with the 5.3 serial number in.

Thats probably true, but I called in from work to upgrade because I dont have the interenet at home, and I wanted to download from work so I could burn to CD for upgrade when I got home from work. It could have just been a leniant DIGI operator;
So, we could both be right.. who knows.
