Command8 as a HUI

my question is regarding as using the COMMAND8 as a universal controller for ABLETON 5, Reason Adapted & Logic7 Pro

i was wondering if anyone had any of the sysex files to loadinto the comamnd 8 and templates to make use of the command8 for a control surface function within these programs ive tried etting it up myself but the aprameters eem to be a bit off. and the old thread with the sysex file and template doesnt seem to be available online.

any help would be great

That's exactly right...nothing.

Long ago I posted an Ableton Live template online, but I deleted it. I also sold my C|8 a while back so I can't recreate it. I also tried to use my C|8 with Logic and Reason. Since all those apps don't support the Command|8 "personality" file (whatever that is), they could receive limited command functionality, but didn't return any info to the C|8. I sold my Command|8 and got an M-Audio ProjectMix I/O and have never looked back. It supports HUI for Pro Tools, and emulates the Mackie Control Universal, for Logic, Live, Reason, etc. It works great.

gotcha.....and the project mix i/o doesnt need ProTools M-Powered?

No it doesn't need it, but it will act as an audio I/O for it. I use the PMI/O with Logic Pro without any Digidesign-branded hardware.
