Default Pro Tools 10 freezing, XPand missing [installed on SSD w/ OS]

I have Windows 7 installed on an SSD, and I installed Pro tools on there as well to achieve better performance. So far, I haven't gotten what I expected to get.

When I bounce to disk or to Quicktime movie, Pro Tools will freeze and say 'not responding' but will bounce and the files will not be corrupt. Starting up Pro Tools takes a while and I only have stock plug-ins that came with PT. If I start up an instrument plug-in like Xpand or Structure, it freezes up. In fact, Xpand randomly disappeared on me and said I had to look in a Digidesign folder-that of which I did not have on my SSD or any of my other HDD's.

I'm not quite sure what the problem is here. My hardware is more than capable of having PT perform well (4.0GHz 6-core processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, and a 500GB HDD dedicated to PT sessions, among other HDD's).

If I could get some insight on this I would really appreciate it so I can have a better experience with Pro Tools. I'm upgraded to 10.3.8.

EDIT: I have recently uninstalled Pro Tools in hopes of regaining XPand.

Hi, You're probably experiencing PT10's issue with Window 7's Aero, where during some operations, the Pro Tools window will freeze until the operation completes. The only way I found around it was to disable the Desktop Management service which disables Aero, but also makes Windows 7 look very basic. Personally I just live with it, especially since PT11 doesn't seem to have that issue.

As far as the other issues - make sure you go through everything here:
