Default Video capture cards..

Ok .. so I know this has nothing to do with digi or pt's but I thought you guys might have some ideas... WHats a good reasonable priced video capture card. I just have to get some family vids off VHS to dvd.. but I'd still like to buy a pretty good card.. just incase I need to use it for other stuff.. Also.. do most vid cards come with audio too.. or do I just put the audio into my regular sound card.. and does the software sync up the audio/vid.. hmm ok thanx..

I have heard fo people using their video cameras a "capture cards". Plug the VHS into the camera, and then firewire the camera into the computer.

To try to tie your thread into the Pro Tools realm, look into the Avid hardware. More to your point, you can look into Pinnacle Systems, eVGA, and ATI Radeon VIVO. You might have a better response to this question in the Adobe forums...

Hope this helps...

That's not a DVD-recorder...but a DVD-player, and a VHS-recorder....

Lite-On makes a good stand alone DVD recorder for a decent price. Check www.newegg.com for prices.
