Default Time Stretching

First let me say that I'm glad about the 2 new instrument plugs from Digi of which one
will be free and the possibility of 48 tracks.

Now the real reason for my post is to present a question!!!!!

Does anyone else think that the Time compression and expansion algorithm
that Digi gives us seriously lacks compared to other applications?

I know we have the option of purchasing 3rd party plugs for several hundred dollars
but this seems like a basic thing that should be of greater quality for the industry standard
*to many artifacts with very small stretches or compressions*.

I've always been a fan of the mpex algorithm used by Steinberg with Wavelab and Cubase
and now according to there press release for Wavelab 6 they now have DIRAC Time Stretching and Pitch Shifting which is supposed to be better.

It appears that Digi after sometime will for the most part acknowledge our plea if we ask
so someone ask with me.

I can't be the only one.

Sorry for the long post.

I guess not many people use it since this post hasn't gotten many responses.

I just wanted to voice my opinion on it to see if anyone else cared.

Is there no one else who thinks it's somewhat absurd that we should have to pay for quality
time compression and expansion by purchasing third party plug-ins.

I know that I'm not the only one.

I'm not trying to beat a confession out of you guys I'm just hoping to get this addressed
which will take the voice of more than just me.

Thanks for the support of those that care about this functionality.

And what of the people who don't want or need that functionality? If degidesign were to dedicate resources to developing better time stretching algorithms, it would increase the price of the base software.

I prefer it the way it is now; if you want/need better stretching abilities, you can add them if you wish.

spkguitar I guess you hit it right on the nail.

It must not be a big deal I guess I'll have to continue to export to Wavelab and
import back in.

It just seems that something so base in my opinion for digital recording software
shouldn't be that hard or expensive to code that it would significantly raise
the price of the Software, since all were really using is a Digital sampler
with many capabilities on top.

Thanks again for your response spkguitar.

I'm finished whining now.
