Xpand!2 missing .big file

Recently got pro tools and I have been trying to use Xpand!2 but whenever i try to open it i get an error saying "THE FACTORY CONTENT WAS NOT FOUND: C:/Program Files/AIR Music Technology PLEASE LOCATE THE CONTENT FILE 'Xpand!2.big'" however the aforementioned file is nowhere to be found. If anyone has a solution it would be greatly appreciated

Hi Stormy - welcome to DUC!

(BIG File) on Windows:
Xpand!2’s Factory Content default location is:
C:\ProgramData\Air Music Technology
You can move this elsewhere (e.g. your Samples drive) during installation.

The following process applies to all AIR VIs and FX – let’s use Xpand!2 as an example:

Windows Presets for Xpand!2 are not in Program Files – they’re here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\AIR Music Technology\ Xpand!2\Presets

Change the name of the ‘Presets’ Folder– call it:
Xpand!2

Paste it here:
Windows
C:\Users\Username\Documents\Pro Tools\Plug-In Settings

Mac (thanks Ben!)
User folder - Documents - Pro Tools - Plugin settings


Another way to get AIR Presets:

double-click:
Xpand!2.aaxplugin
double-click:
Contents Folder
double-click:
Factory Presets Folder

Copy the Xpand!2 Folder
Paste it here for Windows:
C:\Users\Username\Documents\Pro Tools\Plug-In Settings
or here for (thanks Ben!) Mac:
User folder - Documents - Pro Tools - Plugin settings


Restart computer
Launch Pro Tools

Windows Presets for Xpand!2 are not in Program Files – they’re here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\AIR Music Technology\ Xpand!2\Presets

I am able to go as far as C:\Program Files (x86)\AIR Music Technology\ but there is no Xpand!2 folder there. I've tried reinstalling and its still missing

just checked C:\Users\Username\Documents\Pro Tools\Plug-In Settings and the Xpand!2 folder is already there but it still isnt working

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features
Do you have:
AIR Xpand!2 – Version 18.10.0.1448


And did you already do this:

A faulty download could be the problem

Uninstall Xpand!2 in Windows Programs and Features and delete the AAX Plug-In from the Plug-Ins Folder and, if it exists, the Xpand!2 Folder in C:\Users\Username\Documents\Pro Tools\Plug-In Settings

Run the free CCleaner > Registry > Scan for Issues (save backup/s when prompted) – run this a couple of times until no issues are found

Restart computer

Download:
XPand!2 18.1 Installer (Win) 1.23 GB
from your Avid Account > My Products

Install

Restart computer

Launch Pro Tools

tried all this and still get the exact same error message. also i recently realized im getting the same issue for AIR virtual instruments too like boom and minigrand if that information is helpful at all

Apologies for not solving this earlier … here's how to fully install all your AIR VI's (it's the same procedure for each VI)

You’ve installed the Plug-In, but it appears you haven’t installed the Content …

No uninstall is required – just run the Installer again

Installer opens with Xpand!2 Plug-In highlighted
This time, left-click on Xpand!2 Content (please see 2 attached pics)

Hit the ‘Change’ button to Change Current Destination Folder (if you store your Sound Libraries on a separate drive)

Hit the drop-down arrow under ‘Look in:’
to change from:
C:\Program Files\AIR Music Technology\
to your chosen location

Hit the ‘Next’ button
Hit the ‘Install’ button
Wait for ‘Installation Wizard Completed’ and tick ‘Show the Windows Installer log’

Click the ‘Finish’ button
Save the Installer Log with your Installer

Restart computer

Launch Pro Tools

Sorry if this is a dumb question but i installed all the plugins through Avid Link and i dont see a way to run the installer again it just says Current with a green check mark and no other options
