Diagonal scrolling with mouse ball not working in the edit window.

Hi,
I'm using a mac pro dual boot with osx and win 7 64 bit. Using pro tools m-powered 8 on both osx and win 7 with my profire 2626. The mouse that came with the mac has a scrolling button that enables you to scroll both vertically and diagonally in the edit window. This works fine with pro tools in osx but when i use it in win 7 it works when i'm in the win7 windows, explorer notepad ect.. but not in any of the pro tools 8 edit windows.
Freaken frustrating, please help.
