Mono Aux to Stereo?
I recorded some tunes using the Mini Grand plug in via midi.
I usually set it up with a stereo aux track to a mono midi track. On one tune I accidentally set up a mono aux track, but the track is great and I don't want to redo it. It does sound "smaller" than the stereo tracks though. Is there a way to convert the mono aux track into stereo? |

Re: Mono Aux to Stereo?
In all fairness you don't need to do the whole midi and aux thing anymore, the instrument track saves having to do this.
Create a stereo instrument track, instantiate Mini Grand, paste over the midi data. From memory changing the midi track view to regions makes copying and pasting a little easier.

Re: Mono Aux to Stereo?
Thank you.
Is it ok to delete the Midi and Aux tracks once the parts are pasted onto the new instrument track? |

Re: Mono Aux to Stereo?
As long as you have a copy of the midi then you can go ahead and delete the midi and aux track.
Bare in the midi is just the digital data from your controller, it has no idea how you intend to process that data.

Re: Mono Aux to Stereo?
Sorry, but what do you mean by "have a copy of the midi data"?

Re: Mono Aux to Stereo?
Just means make sure your midi performance is correctly pasted into the new instrument track and playing back correctly before you delete the other track. in case something wasn't right, you wouldn't want to have lost the midi data (performance).
Alternatively you could just option click on the tracks you don't need anymore and say "hide and make inactive". That way they aren't visible or taking up resources in your session, but if you ever needed to return to them later, like if the midi data was lost or messed up in the transition, you could do "show and make active" and you're back to normal. Rather than actually deleting them, which is permanent. |
