Default No Play Back

Mix plus, 888 interface, OS9.1, PT V. 5.1.3

When loading a session Some tracks played back and some did not. The interface is conected right and the play back system is working fine, but for some strange reason only one side of some stereo tracks and some mono tracks don't play at all. I've opend many sessions and have made new ones, they all do the same thing. Hopeing some one has hit this situation before and can help.

Thanks
Ecarter

It could be a few things, Pro Tools related or not. You should take a look at the meters on the 888 and see which, if any, are active during playback. For stereo output, you should see activity on outputs 1 & 2 (in a typical setup). If not, you may need to go into your I/O setup and re-arrange your outputs.

Also, in the Mix Window, check to see what output is assigned to each track and make sure, in the I/O setup, that pair is assigned to the 888 outputs 1 & 2.

Or

You can go into the I/O setup window > Outputs tab and select all of the paths, delete them and then hit the "Default" button in that same window. This will force you to re-assign all of the track outputs once you get out of the I/O setup window.

If your 888 already shows activity on outputs 1 & 2 then you may need to verify correct wiring/patching from your 888 to your speakers.

Hope this helps,

Auto Voice on? Make sure you don't have any overlapping voices if they are assigned. Also, you might just have a hardware glitch. Try power cycling the 888 and re-start the computer. Have seen this many times in the past, and a system reboot usually fixes it.
