Perpetual renewal during grace period

Has anyone renewed a perpetual using a third-party vendor (i.e. AudioDeluxe) during the 30-day grace period (where the expiration date has occurred but you are still in the grace period)? Does the code work?

The reason I ask is because it does say on AD website that you can't be expired to use the code, but as for the grace period it is unknown. Thanks.

If that is what it says, then that is what it means. If your perpetual license is expired but still in the grace period, I'd recommend you renew via Avid under your account. You'll get immediate confirmation that the renewal is successful.

I'm going to do that to be on the safe side. I was curious though as to anyone having done it, because I did ask the vendor and they said they didn't know, that maybe it was said to differentiate between a renewal and a reinstatement needed for those beyond the grace.

If the vendor doesn't know, then I would definitely go with Avid directly. Just out of curiosity, is the renewal less expensive through a vendor? If not, what is the advantage of going through a vendor rather than Avid?

I just renewed and it cost me $ 177 through JRRshop.

Yes it is, or else you also get cash credit toward a future purchase (depends on the vendor and how they handle the discount).

Unfortunately Avid no longer has random sales for the perpetual/renewals. I wish they did. Sadly they only have sales for the subscription.

Were you in the 30-day grace period where this worked, or prior to it?

I have renewed my Update and Support Plan within the 30 day grace period a few times. I purchased my renewal code through Sweetwater so I know it'll work.

If JRRShop is offering a discount, I would go there first to save some money.

If you buy find a good price on a renewal code, can you buy it well in advance to use later?

If you put that code in a month early, would you lose a month, or would it still renew on the expiry date?

You can stack renewals. It just adds another year on top of your plan.

Plenty of people were stacking years worth of codes when they were half price a couple of years ago.

So to be extra clear, with a renewal you do not lose a month as it will add another year to your expiration date.
