Update on Windows 8 support

Hi, Avid.

When will there be Windows 8 support? I bought my Mbox 3 Pro with Pro Tools 10 (+ PT9) in november,
fully aware that there was no Windows 8 support, but also aware of the future update,

I expected the update early 2013... The last update is from March.

"At the present time (March, 2013) Windows 8 is not officially supported with with Pro Tools software or any Avid Audio interface.
This is currently being worked on and in the meantime we recommend that Pro Tools 10 users remain on Windows 7 until further notice."

...And then suddenly Pro Tools 11 was released. I haven't even had the opportunity to try PT10 yet. I feel betrayed.
I know I could downgrade to Windows 7, but hell no. Never going back. Windows 8 is marvelous.
For now I'm stuck with Pro Tools 9.0.0. It runs... subpar.

So what's up, Avid? When's the update out? I'll gladly take a beta or even alpha driver.
Knowing that there was an update being worked on when I bought the product, wouldn't that be false marketing? I believe it is, at this point.

There's no reason you can't use PT10.

Hi, I understand your frustration, but with a couple I tweaks I believe you can use Pro Tools 10 in Windows 8. Search the forums as many people are using PT10 in W8. As far as Pro Tools 11 goes, I'm guessing that most people who have upgraded are still using PT10 in conjunction with PT11 like me since many RTAS and VST plugins are not compatible with PT11 yet.
