Default Can't trust Avid any more =(

Not a secret every new step Avid takes is worse and worse.

- adding features other DAWs had years ago
- ignoring new feature requests
- ignoring basic feature requests (no input monitoring off button)
- limited vanilla versions
- messy rates with support plans
- highly unsatisfied customers

All these things made me start learning Studio One and Logic Pro. Not yet sure which to choose. But I'm completely sure I'll leave Pro Tools, if no miracles happen in a year.

If nothing changes, Pro Tools will die in oblivion with all the aged professionals, who made it "industry standard". And even they will switch, when Avid announces that it no longer supports Pro Tools due to total management failure.

I no longer need an "industry standard", I need a DAW I can trust, a DAW that looks into future, a DAW that can be flexible, innovative and promising. Like Studio One.

It's not too late, AVID.

I do agree they should merge HD and native PT together into one.

I also wish you could get a HD license w/o hardware. The current plan affects hardware resale value in my opinion.

Everybody seems to always complain here...

I can't understand all these threats about leaving ProTools ? If the product is good for you, use it, if not, just don't and use something else. You're not married with ProTools, uh ? It sounds like childishness to me.

Well...some people can't leave Pro Tools because of their job and some people may not want to do so.

I think most people here would agree they very much like Pro Tools. However, Avid is making it more difficult to be a PT user lately hence the frustration.

If no one gives feedback, things are surely not going to change at all.

Seek and ye shall find

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/AVID-PRO-TOOL.../231381339518?

If you want to re-sell it
VERY SIMPLE
register it to separate Avid Account/ilok account.
Then re-sell the accounts

That's the point. The more we tell about our feelings, the louder we get.

I stayed with Pro Tools for 7 years. If it's not marriage, then what is it? Yes, call it "marriage", if it describes how bound I am to Pro Tools in terms of workflow.

And like in a marriage, divorce is always painful. And any attempts to save a marriage are helpful. That's why people are complaining.

In fact we want to be heard, we want to hear anything encouraging from AVID. Yet it's just silence. No feedback at all.

As far as I know, Avid doesn't officially sell HD licenses. But I guess you can find anything on eBay.

The post seems misleading too.

"Q: Hello, Would this work with my digi003 console?? I own PT11 and PT10 already, but I always thought PTHD required it's own hardware? I want to surround mix eventually, I could do this with my digi003 but only if it works. Thanks. 24-Mar-15
A: YES this will work with your 003 console. You are free to use Pro Tools HD with ANY interface hardware you choose! Yes if you want to mix surround the 003 has enough outputs to do it."

I was under the impression you need HD hardware to get HD features.

I'm an old ProTools user, since version 3.xx, Nubus stuff with dedicated SCSI bus for audio hard drives, more than 20 years ago... And I've always heard such laments... You can call it feedback. Saying "Avid, attention, I'll leave ProTools" is not feedback. There's so many products on the market, why staying stuck with ProTools if it's so bad ? There's some great competitors for music or post, like Pyramix, Nuendo, Sadie, Cubase, Logic, Digital Performer, Reaper, Studio One, Wavelab, and so on... Use the product that match your needs.

Well, can't understand that. If you're a ProTools addict, you should try a psychological care.

Being married with a DAW... It's not serious.
