It looks like the version for use with Line 6 hardware is the only one currently available. I'm hoping that owners of Line 6 hardware will be able to get an iLok version for free or cheap so I can use this on my laptop while I'm out. I'm entitled to a free upgrade to this but I haven't downloaded it yet and checked it out.

Works great, provided that you like the Line 6 sounds. The iLok version isn't available yet but it's coming.

As far as amp syms go, I like the the Line 6 stuff the best out of what's out there. I'd still rather mic up a great version of real amp though.

It seems like an update to their Gearbox plug-in. Don't know why its not just an update rather than a different plug-in. Also - I can't seem to find the cab sims in Pod Farm which are there in Gearbox.

They're in the graphic next to the amp heads if I recall correctly. I'm not near a rig at the moment but if they're not there I know they're available because I have used them already.

Yeah they're there. Right where they're supposed to be. Except that you have to be on the 'Panel' page. I guess I got caught up in the super scroll mode with the mouse wheel on the 'Gear' page that I never bothered on the static Panel page.

Still wondering if this a Gearbox replacement and if so, what's it doing with a new name but same sound?

A common practice amongst software developers is to repackage code with a new name instead of upgrading old software, Remember Amp Farm? (also a line 6 product at one point I think)

True but Amp Farm was a TDM plugin for PT only. Gearbox is a la Amplitube, Guitar Rig etc. On the Line6 web, they're selling the BOTH! As if they're separate products! But if you have Gearbox, you get Pod Farm free. Strange days at Line 6.

Good to hear that I am not the only one super confused by Line 6's marketing. Do all owners of Gearbox Gold get Pod Farm Platinum? Is it working well on Leapard and Pro Tools 8? It isn't on Digi's plug-in page as approved.
