Crossgrade help
Hello. I have an ilok key with pro tools plugins and protools LE from an M-Audio Keystation 49i production kit mini USB interface. With this make me eligible for a pro tools 9 cross grade?
P.S i realise there have been quite a few of this style thread, but i haven't found an answer yet!

Do you mean Pro Tools LE or Pro Tools M-Powered.

it came with pro tools m-powered essentials 8.
I have tried pro tools 9 using another interface, being an alesis multi mix USB. IF i had to cross grade to pro tools m-powered 9, would this still work with it all?

This is the cross grade page, the pull down gives you the list of products eligible for the cross grade price, I don't see PT M-Powered Essential on the list.

As far as I know, M-Powered Essential is just the free "starter software" bundled with certain interfaces. I've looked all over the M-Audio website and don't see a reference to an upgrade. They just mention "stepping up" to protools M-powered, but no special price.
You can buy M-Powered 9 for $299, which is cheaper than "normal" Protools which is $599. Or you can buy one of the last remaining new Mbox 3 mini's that come with Protools LE 8 for $329 from musiciansfriend: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-a...mini-3-3rd-gen You would need to use the Mbox mini as your interface with this software, which is fine because it's gonna be way better quality than the keystudio. But you can keep using your keystudio as your midi keyboard controller.
