Do I MUST to have MLCD for manufacturing?
Hello, I just got a Yamaha 6416 with toast, I need to get a CD ready for manufacturing and I wonder if using the formatt "Mac volume" will make it. or do I really need MLcd in order to have a master for manufacturing? if not which are the advantages of having MLCD?
Thank you. |

Re: Do I MUST to have MLCD for manufacturing?
corbel,
With more than 7000 CD's mastered (100 gold and platinum...figure those odds); and thousands more submitted to my company for manufacturing. You will need " Adaptecs Jam" (my favorite) or MLCD to write a "true Red Book CD" Toast audio discs almost always fail the mfg. loop. If you do use toast, choose "write disc" to put a "lead out" in the session. It still isn't a true red book master, however, I have slipped a few through with this method. Re: Do I MUST to have MLCD for manufacturing?
corbel,
I have not used Waveburner to date so no comment on that. I will say that "Jam" is a brilliant product and a lot of pro folks use it. I am a bit hesitant to even mess with anything else. So many programs say they write true red book audio CD's, but in the end they don't deliver, your pject won't pass manufacturing specs and everything is screwed. I have never had a Jam CD fail manufacturing, MLCD has failed to write the "lead out" on discs a few times and I have read a few posts about that here. Regards e |

Re: Do I MUST to have MLCD for manufacturing?
Y'know, I just read a review on Jam 2.5. I have to agree with the reviewer that it's basically a very boring product to review:
1. It does what it's supposed to do; 2. it does it pretty much how you expect to do it; and 3. it doesn't crash or produce errors. I wish all software products were so boring... ------------------ LW
