Re: How is Pro Tools 2018 behaving?
I recently created a thread with a serious issue I am having with 2018.3 and 2018.4.
http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=399962 Basically pro tools crashes when recalling a window configuration with workspace browser attached to it. Every time you recall it, the specific workspace does a quick indexing and at some point it will crash pro tools. Sometimes it happens maybe on the 4-6 recall, other times after 20-30 recalls. No external hard drives, no plugins besides stock ones. Anybody else uses window configurations with workspaces in them and also struggles with it? Workspaces, especially with one's track presets and plugins that one can just drag and drop anywhere into the edit window are a really awesome, useful feature. |

Re: How is Pro Tools 2018 behaving?
Not great for me on my 'Trashcan'.
Its OK, but getting a lot of beachballs when doing things like Commit and simple day-to-day tasks. MIDI notes are not deleting themselves and get stuck Workspace is really bad - When dragging into the Edit page while Protools is running, the track will drop a channel and only playing back down one side in mono. Occasionally it doesn't preview in workspace browser while playing so lots of stop/starts to make it work! Bit laggy crashes about 7 times daily I have 64 GBs RAM so thought it would perform better. |

Re: How is Pro Tools 2018 behaving?
I've never really been a Pro Tools guy but always thought that if any DAW would be an oasis of stability, that would be Pro Tools but it seems that any other DAW right now might be more reliable it terms of working basic features and unexpected crashes which I see too often. Maybe Avid should change that pop-up to "Pro Tools quit expectedly".
