SRC Long File Names Truncated
When I "Save Copy In..." to create a lower sample rate conversion of a huge 96k session, Pro Tools truncates all of the audio file names to shorter versions, often with no spaces. These are all full files, no edits. All of the original carefully-named files were perfectly legal characters.
Within the newly converted session the Edit Window regions (clips) come up correctly named - yet the actual converted audio files names are truncated. My workaround is to select all of the files in the new region bin (clips), and hit Shift+Command+R, and choose "name clip and disk file" - then "OK" for every . . . single . . . file - but this is so long-winded for massive sessions. (I know, Keyboard Maestro, QuicKeys, etc) It also destroys the carefully organized structure of subfolders within the Audio Files folder, and just makes one massive single directory. . . . and don't get me started on the lack of ability to create folders within the "Clips" bin. C'mon Avid . . . in this day and age. Someone could be working remotely from home fixing this stuff. Customers might even renew their subscriptions and service contracts. You know . . . money ! rant/ Last edited by Tweakhead; 02-18-2021 at 10:26 AM. |
